Obstetrical Services: A Consumers Guide

Childbirth accounts for almost 1 in 4 Virginia hospital discharges. Hospitals and physicians vary in the types of services provided and rates of Cesarean delivery, episiotomy and other care. VHI believes parents to be should have information on the choices they may face and services available before delivering their baby.

VHI is developing a third edition of OBSTETRICAL SERVICES: A CONSUMER'S GUIDE. This GUIDE will include extensive information on obstetrical services available in Virginia hospitals as well as rates of cesarean delivery for hospitals and physicians. For more on this publication, please download the OB Flyer in Adobe Acrobat format.
