Outreach Specialist

Job Function

To support the Emergency Department Care Coordination (EDCC) Program as well as other VHI products, services and programs by administering meetings, program demonstrations and facilitating the onboarding process. Including but not limited to preparing for and moderating meetings as well as compiling a summary that includes proposed tasks, target dates and list of responsibilities and responsible person(s). Interacts directly with health systems, health plans, providers and hospital personnel in a variety of initiatives.

  1. Background in health care and/or social work with a desire to work in marketing and/or public relations with 1-3 years’ experience in a related field
  2. Must possess excellent written, verbal and presentation skills and the desire to cultivate new and existing relationships
  3. Naturally organized, precise and detail oriented and motivated troubleshooter
  4. Ability to quickly shift gears, adapt to changing needs and juggle multiple priorities effectively and efficiently
  5. Proficient in Microsoft Office suite
  6. Works with initiative in a telecommute environment
  7. Works well in an in-person team environment with VHI staff and external stakeholders as well as a desire to work in a small office environment

Job Responsibilities and Duties

  1. Strategize communication and outreach plans that promote increased participation in relevant VHI programs.
  2. Manage a combination of project activities including scheduling and communicating with customers and vendors, keeping up-to-date status of projects and support activities and tracking and following-up on issues.
  3. Maintain the necessary clinical and technical knowledge needed to stand up, support and market the products/services that are offered to customers.
  4. Serve as primary customer support contact for newly participating organizations in VHI programs.
  5. Control and retain accurate and timely customer and vendor relationship information.
  6. Seek out and cultivate relationships in healthcare settings to provide full-service support to organizations interested in learning more about VHI products and services.
  7. Work with web and graphics team to create and disseminate product collateral and program communications.
  8. Assist in planning and supporting VHI at conferences, seminars and external meetings.
  9. Perform other duties related to VHI programs and services as requested.

Starting Salary

Based on experience and market assessment.
