Contract & Compliance Coordinator
Summary
VHI’s Contract & Compliance Coordinator provides comprehensive legal and administrative support related to participant and vendor contracts, regulatory compliance and organizational policy management. This role is responsible for assisting with drafting, reviewing, coordinating, tracking and maintaining contracts, policies and related legal documentation to support organizational operations and compliance with applicable Virginia healthcare laws and regulations. The Contract & Compliance Coordinator works closely with leadership, legal counsel, program staff, vendors and external stakeholders to support the successful administration of contractual and policy-related processes.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as the first level of support for the preparation, review, routing, execution and maintenance of healthcare data contracts, business associate agreements, data use agreements and vendor agreements.
- Maintain contract and policy records and tracking systems, ensuring information is complete, accurate and up to date.
- Coordinate contract renewals and compliance requirements.
- Support internal policy development, revisions and implementation.
- Facilitate communication between internal departments and leadership regarding legal and contractual matters.
- Prepare and organize legal and regulatory documentation; monitoring deadlines and deliverables.
- Conduct legal and regulatory research related to healthcare operations and compliance specific to Virginia Code and Administrative Regulations related to VHI’s work with the Virginia General Assembly and the Virginia Department of Health.
- Provide administrative support for legal, compliance and policy initiatives as needed.
Qualifications & Experience
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Paralegal/Legal Studies, Healthcare Administration or a related field; Paralegal certification from an accredited program preferred.
- Minimum of 2-4 years of experience supporting contracts, legal operations, compliance or policy administration, preferably within a healthcare or regulated environment.
- Demonstrated experience reviewing, coordinating and maintaining contracts such as vendor agreements, business associate agreements (BAAs), data use agreements (DUAs) or service agreements.
- Working knowledge of Virginia healthcare regulations and compliance requirements as well as HIPAA and healthcare privacy standards.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects, deadlines and document tracking systems simultaneously.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to interact professionally with leadership, vendors, legal counsel and external stakeholders.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Google Suite as well as experience using contract management, document management or policy tracking systems preferred.

Working Arrangement
This position follows VHI’s hybrid work model, with a combination of in-office and remote work. Employees are required to work on-site at VHI’s Richmond, Virginia office on designated in-office days.

Salary
$65,000-$75,000, based on experience
